REPL8D PRIVACY POLICY

REPL8D is a digital brand owned by Elder Sons LLC and operated by developer Ryan Lanzendorf (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and handle your information when you use the REPL8D mobile application (the “App”).
By using REPL8D, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. DATA COLLECTION AND TYPES OF DATA
We practice data minimization: we only collect what is strictly necessary to provide the App’s core social cooking experience, recipe lineage tracking ("Recipe DNA"), and CloudKit archive features.
A. Authentication Data (Sign in with Apple)
To create an account and authenticate your profile, we use "Sign in with Apple" (SIWA).
- User Identifiers: A unique, anonymized user ID provided by Apple to associate your profile with your saved collections.
- Profile Handle: A public handle/curator code selected by you during onboarding.
- Email Address: Collected via SIWA. You may choose to share your real email address or use Apple’s "Hide My Email" private relay service.
B. User-Generated Content & Recipe Metadata
- Public Archives: Photos of dishes, ingredients, directions, descriptions, and lineage/remix links ("Recipe DNA") that you voluntarily upload are stored on Apple’s public CloudKit database to enable social sharing and peer collection browsing.
- Optional Profile Email: If you choose to add a personal contact email address inside your profile settings, this data is stored strictly on your local device. It is NOT uploaded to public CloudKit databases, NOT synced to remote servers, and NEVER visible to other users.
C. Diagnostic and Technical Data
- Crash logs and performance statistics provided automatically by iOS to help us diagnose app crashes and maintain system performance.
D. App Analytics (Google Firebase)
We use Google Firebase Analytics to collect aggregated, pseudonymous usage statistics (such as session duration, daily active users, and feature interactions like recipe creation and remixes). This data is used to analyze feature adoption and improve the app's performance. Firebase Analytics does not collect your name, email, or precise location, and this information is never used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
2. USE OF DATA
We use the collected data strictly for operational purposes:
- To maintain your account and display your public recipe archives and collections.
- To execute the "Remix" DNA tracking and credit original creators across recipe branches.
- To secure the App and troubleshoot technical bugs.
- To analyze aggregate usage patterns, daily active users, and feature engagement through Google Firebase Analytics.
We do NOT sell, rent, trade, or monetize your personal information, recipe archives, or photography to third-party advertisers or data brokers.
3. DATA STORAGE, CLOUDKIT, AND SECURITY
- Cloud Infrastructure: Public recipe records and uploaded imagery are secured within Apple's CloudKit infrastructure utilizing industry-standard TLS 1.3 encryption in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest.
- Local Storage: Your account state and private profile preferences are cached locally on your device using secure iOS document storage.
4. DATA RETENTION AND ACCOUNT DELETION
You retain full control over your data.
- Deleting Content: You can delete individual recipes or collections at any time directly within the App interface.
- Deleting Account: You can trigger a full account deletion within App Settings. Deleting your account permanently purges your user profile and disassociates your public contributions from your personal identity.
5. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS (CCPA / CPRA / GDPR)
Depending on your region (including California and the European Union), you hold the following rights regarding your data:
- Right to Access: Request confirmation of what personal data we hold.
- Right to Correction: Update inaccurate profile information via App settings.
- Right to Erasure: Request permanent deletion of your profile and data.
- Zero Data Sale: We do not sell personal data. You are automatically opted out of any data monetizations because none take place.
6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
REPL8D does not target or address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
